Amendments, Alterations & Cancellations
Should you need to alter your holiday in any way, where possible we will be happy to do this for you however this would be subject to a £25.00 administration charge. We will endeavour to meet any request you may have however we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet it and if this is the case we will inform you immediately. If you decide to cancel your holiday as a result, cancellation charges will apply.
Should your holiday be booked over Christmas, the New Year or during school holidays any amendment to dates will come under our Cancellation terms.
Sometimes, due to circumstances beyond our control we may need to alter the terms of your booking. If this happens we will inform you immediately. Wherever possible we will provide a cottage of similar standard if the one booked becomes unavailable.
If you need to cancel your holiday, please advise in writing as soon as possible. We will do all we can to re-let the cottage and if successful we will refund all monies paid but if this is not possible the following charges will apply:
- 12 + weeks to commencement of holiday – refund of deposit and no obligation to settle final balance
- 12-10 weeks to commencement of holiday – forfeit deposit
- 10-8 weeks to commencement of holiday – 75% total cost of holiday
- 8-4 weeks to commencement of holiday – 90% total cost of holiday
- 4 weeks or less to commencement of holiday – 100% total cost of holiday
Arrival & Departure
Please kindly note that arrival is from 4pm.
You will be required to vacate your cottage by 10am.
If you depart later than 10am without giving us prior knowledge, there will be a charge of £25.00 per half hour delay. We appreciate your understanding with this.
Condition of Property & Inventory
Prior to your arrival your cottage will be cleaned and the inventory checked. Please report any Discrepancies or Damage within 12 hours of arrival; the Inventory will otherwise be deemed as correct and therefore any losses, damage or cleaning required over & beyond normal servicing will be notified to you on or as soon after departure as possible including the appropriate charges to be applied. Our damage deposit is £250 per property and will be refunded to you once you have vacated the property and it has been checked by our staff.
By accepting these booking Terms you authorise us to deduct payment for this from your credit or debit card.
Deposits and Final Balance
A deposit or full accommodation price, as the case may be, will be required before we can confirm your holiday. By paying this you are entering into a contract and accepting our booking conditions.
Reservations will be held on a provisional basis for 7 days, if outside the 8 weeks prior to arrival, after which time a deposit of one third the total cost of the holiday will be required to confirm your holiday.
Payment of the balance of the accommodation price is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. Failure to make payment may result in the booking being cancelled and deposit forfeited.
Payments may be made by cheque, credit card, debit card or bank transfer. Cheques should be made payable to “Miss S Orsler and Mr A Seal”. We cannot accept post-dated cheques.
Prices are correct at the time of publication but may change without notice with the exception of confirmed bookings.
Confirmed bookings will not alter other than to reflect any changes in tax. E&O E
We do not send reminders of when payments are due as the dates are shown in the confirmation.
Our priority is to ensure your holiday is as enjoyable and trouble-free as it could possibly be and we are happy for you to park outside your cottage to unpack or during unfortunate times of foul weather, however for all other times we would be very grateful if you could park in the main car park at the back of the cottages. We would like to keep cars to a minimum around the properties main area. This is for everyone’s enjoyment and safety, including when children are playing outside the cottages.
Should you need to leave your car outside your cottage for the duration of your holiday please advise. Vehicles and contents are parked entirely at the owner’s risk.
We do not accept dogs in the properties.
We provide all bed linen and beds will be made up for you. Our duvets & pillows are Microfibre (man- made alternative to Goose Down. 100% cotton case. Hand sewn fine woven casing is impenetrable to dust mites). Bathroom towels are included. Please bring beach towels should these be required.
If you are staying for longer than 1 week and would like fresh bed linen and towels please advise on arrival. The supplement charge for this starts from £40.00.
Log Burners & Open Fires
Wild Thyme Barn and Pond View Cottage have log burning stoves in the living room.
During the months of October to April as part of the welcome pack, we provide 1 box of logs, kindling, firelighters and matches for your log burning stove. You can purchase additional boxes of logs from us for £10.00. If you would like to pre-order any to be available on arrival, please advise. Outside these months you are very welcome to use the log burner. When purchasing logs from a shop please ensure they are kiln dried – as any other type of log creates moisture within the chimney which quickly creates soot, then smoke and this will eventually clog the chimney.
Ponds & Grounds
The grounds surrounding your cottage are tranquil and full of wildlife. Due to the Manor house being a private residential property the grounds opposite the front of the cottages is not accessible to guests. However you should be aware that within the gardens, a good distance from the cottages, we have 2 ponds and for safety reasons please ensure children (and non-swimmers) do not venture into this area on their own.
All of our cottages are strictly non-smoking.
Welcome Pack and our environment
We provide a Holiday Welcome Pack which we hope helps to get your holiday off to a great start.
It includes one pint of milk,plus cleaning equipment including a dish cloth, an oven glove,1 kitchen towel, 1 toilet roll per bathroom plus Ecover dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid and toilet cleaner .
We care deeply about our environment and wildlife and would greatly appreciate your support in using the Ecover products. At Penventinue we have a septic tank installed and these products help to ensure the sewage system works correctly.
